We woke up in the Tune hotel at KLIA LCCT and had to make our way over to the KLIA international terminal. We packed up our bags and took the transfer bus between the two terminals which cost us each 2.50 MYR and it took about 15 minutes.

We arrived at the Malaysian airlines check in area to a pretty disturbing sight. MH370 had vanished over night on a scheduled flight from KUL – PEK. My heart sank a little bit as I was shocked and a little worried as we would be flying malaysia airlines today.

The check in and bag drop lines for Malaysia Airlines were possibly the longest I have ever seen at any airport, ever. Chaos had started and there were thousands of people all trying to get information on their flights and also check in.

We first checked to see if our flight would be departing and then found a check in line which we joined. We had arrived at the airport 3 hours prior to our departure. We picked a line and just waiting like everyone else, though there were a large amount of people pushing and shoving and cutting in the lines, which was pretty easy to do as it was a mess.

We waited for around 2 hours in the line before they started calling our flight number. Malaysia airlines were letting people come out of the line and proceed to check in if their flight was departing soon.

We checked in and the process was nice and quick and then we ran over to security.

Sadly running did not really help at all, as we were greeted with another massive line at security. I guess because of the situation security was at the maximum level and everyone was having advanced screening, its understandable.

After making it through security we ran to our gate to be greeted with another large line. The problem here was that the gate was the entrance to two gates and because of all the delays and people being late. Everyone appeared at the gate at the same time. So our boarding gate had two flights loading up from it.

I snapped a few photos of our plane for today’s flight.

Thankfully our flight was departing soon and they called for all passengers to Phuket to come forward and board.

We boarded quickly and I checked out my seat.

The seat was fairly comfy and the chair soft leather and the legroom was standard for economy.
I was sat in seat 10A just over the wing

After around 15 minutes of waiting on the tarmac we noticed we had not moved anywhere from the gate and at this point the captain came on and announced there was a large amount of departing traffic leaving from KL at this time of the morning and we had missed out departure slot and would be delayed about 20 more minutes.

When our departure finally came we taxied and were 8 in line for take off.
On our taxi run I noticed an old Saudi Airline Boeing 747 packed up.

We took off quickly and it was very smooth as it was a very clear and sunny day.

About 5 minutes after take off the flight crew jumped up and announced they would be serving breakfast, which really surprised me for just a 1 hour long flight.

You are lucky to even get some free peanuts on a US flight. Breakfast today would be a tomato omelette with potato wedges and a sausage.

The breakfast was good, apart from the sausage which I did not eat.
Today’s flight was going to be real quick, so I snapped a picture.

The flight continued and before we knew it we were making our landing in Phuket.

The landing was fairly interesting as we came in fairly hard and bounced on the runway before finally coming to a stop, this can be heard and seen in the video.

Overall a very decent flight and I would fly Malaysia airlines again even with everything that has gone on with them it was a great short flight.

As we taxied to the terminal I noticed a few aircraft parked at the gates, I spotted a UT air and an Aeroflot and another Russian airline I’m not familiar with.
